Loredana Mihalca is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Webster University Geneva. She earned a Ph.D. in Psychology (Summa cum laude) from the Babes-Bolyai University, Romania in 2011. After completing her post-doctoral fellowship at Koblenz-Landau University, Germany, she worked as a researcher at RWTH Aachen University, Institute for Education, Germany. In March 2014, she was awarded an Excellence Scholarship offered by the federal state Upper Austria for emerging researchers, and therefore she conducted research at Johannes Kepler University, Linz, where she also taught as a guest lecturer the course “Introduction to Educational Psychology”. Her research interests lie at the interface of educational psychology and cognitive psychology, with the main focus on instructional design and its impact on performance and metacognition.
