Undergraduate Programs
A liberal arts education: general & specific
Webster’s undergraduate degree (also called Bachelor's) programs follow a liberal arts education, which offers:
- a general education in the first two years of your university program, when you take courses in all areas of the curriculum – natural sciences and mathematics, social sciences, and arts and humanities.
- a specialization in the second two years, when you choose a major field of study and take most of your courses in that major.
The combination of general & then specific education gives you a broad base of knowledge and specific skills that will be useful in whatever career you pursue.
Take a Minor in your preferred field
Students who are interested in exploring a particular area may complete a minor in that field. A minor consists of 6 courses (18 credits) in a given area of study and is recorded on your transcript. A course counted toward a major cannot also count toward a minor.
We offer minors in each area in which a major is offered as well as the following areas of study:
- Computer applications
- French
- History
- International Human Rights
- Journalism
- Photography
- Political Science
- Philosophy
- Sociology
