Degree requirements:
36 credits (12 courses): required Counseling courses
12 credits (4 courses): elective courses
100 hours: Practicum
600 hours: Internship

- COUN 5700 Lifestyle and Career Development
- COUN 5800 Professional Orientation and Ethics
- COUN 5100 Research and Evaluation
- COUN 6000 Counseling Learning Practicum
- COUN 6500 Internship*
*this course must be taken twice
Electives
Four elective courses (3 credits each) must be taken from the Counseling program curriculum.
License requirements
Some state licensure laws require specific courses in addition to the Webster's core requirements. Some state licensure laws do not allow for courses to be completed through directed studies. You must consult with your counseling faculty coordinator and academic advisor about your options, before choosing electives, if you are interested in pursuing a license.
