Licensing and Accreditation
State licensure requirements vary by state in the US. The program curriculum satisfies requirements in certain states. It also satisfies the educational requirements in the US for the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), which in turn requires the academic qualifications for the National Certified Counselors (NCC) examination.

Swiss National Association for Counselling
Swiss Ansco Trademark Announcement:
ANSCo, the Swiss National Association for Counselling and Webster University, Geneva are pleased to announce their success in formally registering the term “ANSCo Counsellor” with Federal Institute of Intellectual Property in Berne.
As a first step achieving this trademark means the term “ANSCo Counsellor” now determines the foundation for national standards for the Counselling Profession in Switzerland according to ANSCo standards.
The hard work between ANSCo and Webster University started 3 years ago and the result paves the way for the accreditation of individual counsellors and of counsellor training courses in Switzerland.
Representative for ANSCo in the Swiss Romande and a member of its board since 2007, Webster University looks forward to continued collaboration with ANSCo to establish “Counselling” as a recognized profession of high standing in Switzerland.
Individuals having successfully completed a counsellor training course of at least 450 hours and becoming ANSCo members will be able to use the term “ANSCo Counsellor” after their name. Those who have successfully completed a counsellor training course of at least 1500 hours and become ANSCo members will be able to use the term “ANSCo Professional Counsellor” after their name. Those who fulfil the requirements for becoming ANSCo Professional Counsellors and furthermore apply for and obtain ANSCo accreditation will be "ANSCo Accredited Professional Counsellors".
Accreditation will amount to a guarantee of professional competence from ANSCo and will entail inclusion in the ANSCo Swiss Register of Counsellors. Having completed an ANSCo Accredited Professional Counsellor Training Course will automatically qualify an ANSCo member for accreditation. A simple application and the payment of a small processing fee is all that will be required in that case.
Webster is presently in the process of submitting an accreditation application to ensure that its MA Counseling Program is “ANSCo accredited”.
After 30 years of service in Switzerland, Webster University and its MA Counseling program are delighted to share with you this exciting news. We plan to continue our collaboration with ANSCo in this important pioneering work and will provide you with updates as appropriate.
