Webster University Geneva’s Media Communications Department will hold its 4th annual Media Trends conference from April 8 to April 10. This year we have chosen to focus our spotlight on media issues related to children, “Challenging Crossroads: Children and the Media,” will investigate some of the more contentious media crossroads that today’s youth  traverse. Panels on media ethics, protecting children on the internet, media activism, child exploitation, children’s health and media literacy provide the framework for Media Trends 2013. Related workshops will be held on the third day of the conference.

With a better understanding of how the media function, we will be better equipped to move society to a better place. Such positive change will take everyone’s cooperation and collaboration. If we are to see progress; youth, parents, educators, media professionals and corporations, policy makers and a host of other individuals must work together, sharing the common goal of improving society.
