During the last four days of May, ten Webster Geneva Junior and two Senior student Leaders welcomed seven Webster Vienna student Leaders for the annual LEADS Retreat which took place at the picturesque Lac de Joux valley of the Jura Mountains in the Swiss Canton of Vaud. Known for its watch-making farms and beautiful nature, Lac de Joux provided a perfect backdrop for student Leaders while they engaged in a variety of physical, team-building and problem-solving exercises and activities at an altitude of 1000m above sea level.

The objective of this Retreat was to improve their interpersonal, communication and leadership skills as they prepare to welcome new students who will be coming to Webster this fall. It also offered participants from both campuses the opportunity to form close ties in an off-campus environment, which was evident from their testimonials: Psychology student Mel expressed that “our retreat was such a great experience. We got to know each other and learned how to work better together.”

Media student Seth said “thanks to this retreat we're prepared to support each other’s weaknesses and improve our own strengths”. The President of Student Government Association J.P. reflected “the orientation retreat gives students from around the world the opportunity to come together and learn how to be leaders with a global perspective, which is what Webster is all about.”
