Spring Orientation at Webster Geneva Campus was the chance to welcome seventy-seven new students from all over the world to the campus in Bellevue, Switzerland. Fifty of these came to study abroad for the semester via the WINS (Webster International Network of Schools) program. Fourteen new undergraduate students, from Pakistan, the Philippines, Greece, Switzerland, Lebanon, Germany, France, Brazil, Serbia, Croatia and the USA, also arrived along with thirteen new graduate students from Egypt, the UK, the USA, Russia, France, Switzerland, Serbia, Romania and Kuwait.

"My arrival to Webster University has been nothing but welcoming. The student leaders during orientation helped me acclimate to my surroundings. Having the opportunity to visit Chamonix was incredible. Even though the weather was not the best it could have been, I think that all of us enjoyed the day trip. The first week here has me enthusiastic about what is to come." - Jelena Debelnogich, Kent State University

"The first week here in Geneva has been absolutely unreal. It's amazing to be surrounded by people from all over the world and thoroughly exciting to be exposed to so many different cultures and languages.
The first trip we took to Chamonix, France was amazing. Though cloudy and snowy skies took over the first day, a small group of us stayed over night and planned our own journey back so we could go skiing/snowboarding. Blue skies followed that second day and the most wonderful powder day a skier or snowboarder could hope for. The mountains surrounding the area are absolutely stunning and I will be back to Chamonix very soon." - Kate Foster, University of Massachusetts - Amherst

"The day trip to Chamonix was an awesome experience to hangout with everyone and spend the day in beautiful French Alps. The snowy mountains were breathtaking along with the train ride to the Glacier. I was really impressed to see the great work done by the student leaders which is inspiring me to join them too." - Zain Abbas, Undergraduate from Pakistan.

"You might have lost your way in the dark but there is always a shining little star (everyone even stranger around you) to guide you to your destination. And, Geneva is great so far for me." - Thein (Teasha) Htut, Webster Thailand

"I saw snow for the first time and took a walk around just to see what it felt like underneath my feet!" - Liora Rodriguez, Webster Groves

"I didn't expect to meet so many people so fast through the program, and to love the city's vibe so much — ever-grateful for this opportunity" - Cecilia Salem, Kent State University.

"My experience at Webster Geneva so far has exceeded my expectations! Professors are extremely interesting and experienced in their fields; student leaders and ARCs have been helpful and friendly; and the city is full of history and fun things to do. I'm glad I chose to study abroad in Geneva! " - Alisha Parikh, University of Massachusetts - Amherst

“If you had expectations, get rid of them. Geneva is a new and unique experience that everyone could appreciate!” - Theo Russell, Kent State University

During orientation week, the students were offered a tour of Geneva with orientation leaders as well as ice-skating at Parc de Bastions. This was followed by a weekend day-trip where 42 students visited Chamonix, France, in some very snowy conditions! Pictures from orientation can be found on the Webster Geneva Facebook page.
