Looking Glass Livestream SeriesAfter its launch on April 16th, the first Webster Geneva Campus Live Stream Series, ‘The Looking Glass’, closed it's Spring round of episodes on June 25th. The purpose of these livestreams, organized and conducted by the Head of the Media Communications Department of Webster Geneva Francesco Arese Visconti, was to raise and discuss current issues with expert speakers.

The webinars were streamed live on WebEx and simultaneously on the Webster University Geneva Facebook page. Francesco Arese Visconti opened the series discussing aspects of visual semiotics on online media in the age of Coronavirus. Through practical examples, Arese Visconti demonstrated how humanity always tended to refer to archetypes to visually represent the battle between humans and external enemies as happened in the case of the COVID-19 disease:




On April 27th Dr. Katarzyna Jagodzinska provided practical tips and insights on how to boost e-negotiation power referring to the Coronavirus outbreak as well. During her talk, Jagodzinska explained how businesses need to re-think the ways they engage with clients to reach favorable and long-lasting agreements:




On May 14th Francesco Arese Visconti discussed with multi awarded winning fine art photographer Athena Carey what mindfulness is, how it could help during the pandemic and how it is accessible through photography practice:




On May 28th Dr. Vlad Glaveanu explored numerous links between mobility/immobility and possibility/impossibility during the COVID-19 lockdown period by drawing on scholarship from the new mobilities paradigm and creativity research:




For the episode of June the 11th, media expert and Webster St. Louis faculty Julie Smith shared tips and tricks to discern facts from fiction relating to the Coronavirus in today’s media landscape:




June 25th signed the date of the last Spring webinar of ‘The Looking Glass.’ Francesco Arese Visconti hosted Marco Barber and Nicolas Rohrbasser. The two digital marketing and communications experts presented on how to drive a successful digital marketing strategy with new and very dynamic perspectives. The purpose of the presentation was to highlight how businesses and organizations can benefit from constantly refreshing their approach to leverage the potential of communication channels:




All the sessions were well attended with an average of 39 participants per event from 14 countries around the globe (Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy, France, Myanmar, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Us). The Facebook videos reached an estimated number of 5.185 people and allowed to develop collaborations with other institutions. The series will come back in September with new episodes.
