An integrative approach to mental health

News: our MA in Counseling program accredited by ANSCo

Gain the skills to help clients assess emotional difficulties, develop insight, and make significant lifestyle changes through Webster’s MA in Counseling program – the largest mental health counseling program in the US and the first such program to be offered in Europe.

Coming from Geneva’s well-respected counseling community, our expert professors provide a solid grounding in counseling theories and techniques, supported by case studies and real-life examples from their own professional practices. You will also obtain essential practical experience through role play, peer counseling, 100 hours of practicum, (unpaid) and 600 hours of internship (can be paid).

Small classes allow individual attention, and foster an open atmosphere where you can learn from the different perspectives and cultures of your international classmates and professors. This multicultural experience is particularly valuable if you plan to work in the Geneva area. The program also cultivates self-awareness and interpersonal communications skills – essential to anyone planning to help others.

Your career will benefit from networking opportunities with professors, guest speakers, alumni, and classmates, all from diverse backgrounds and varied specialties.

The flexible evening program allows you to easily combine work and study, while the integrated approach and practicum/internship experience also allows you to specialize in your own area of interest. Satisfying licensing requirements in various US states, the program draws on a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • philosophy
  • psychology
  • sociology
  • ethics.

“Webster's Counseling program gives a very thorough and broad grounding in counseling theory, helps you develop the necessary practical skills, allows for personal development, and gives you access to Geneva’s counseling network. The mix of ages, nationalities, backgrounds, and experiences in the classroom also brings a great deal of variety and is very stimulating. I gained new direction on both a personal and professional level – including a new career possibility.”
